2018 National K-12 Grade Championship Results & Pics!

This past weekend, 24 of our LG students participated in the National Scholastic K-12 Grade chess championships in Orlando, FL. This was our largest turnout yet and our students demonstrated incredible sportsmanship and team spirit. We had several players who were participating in their first ever National tournament! Here is a summary of the key results:

TEAM AWARDS:
  • 1st grade: 7th place
  • 2nd grade: 5th place
  • 3rd grade: 5th place
  • 4th grade: 3rd place

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
  • 2nd grade: Jack Faissal, 15th place tied
  • 3rd grade: Dylan Kang, 9th place
  • 4th grade: Spencer Chin - 4th place; Romir Mukherjee - 20th place tied
OTHER HONORABLE MENTIONS
  • 1st grade: ratings 800 to 999 - Youran (Evan) Zhao, 1st place
  • 2nd grade: ratings 600 to 799 - Connor Chin, 2nd place
